"An individual's personality is a composite of all of the types, each individual has a unique combination. These types Reliably show characteristic repertoire of behavior and patterns of likes and dislikes, hold specific values and endorse unique self-descriptions. (Brown 2002, p. 380)
Usually a person is characterized by a combination of the three types with the highest test results, the "three-letter code. These combinations are in turn assigned to specific occupations.
The six personality types relate to each other in a specific ratio. Holland has this in the so-called "Dutch Hex" shows that the six personality types in a hexagon orders:

Empirical tests of the circular structure of the relationship have confirmed the personality types (see Brown 2002, p. 404F).. Genauerhin a series of indicator properties, which give the theory its full diagnostic value:
• Congruence: Agreement opens up the degree of fit between personality and work environment. For example, a high fit exists between the personal and the combination was working as administrative assistant in a hospital with the classification SER.
• Consistency: Consistency is a measure for internal consistency of the individual personality type values. Consistency is determined by the ratio of the first two letters of the three-letter codes of the hexagon. The closer are the types to one another, the more consistent is the code and the individual. Of adjacent types, such as SA or RC are more harmonious than those who are facing such as SR or AC.
• Differentiation: Differentiation is a measure of the crystallization of the interests and information on the degree of certainty or the profiling of an individual type of expression. Is measured as the difference between the differentiation of the highest and lowest value. The highest possible degree of differentiation would the fact remains that a person could have only one type of high expression and the other in a very low value ("mountainous profile with a dominant mountain and a low valley"). The lowest-possible degree of differentiation would be in a low profile (flat profile).
• Identity: Identity is an indicator of the clarity of the interests, goals and talents.
